A web app instead of an app store app

We've shipped iOS apps of our own, and that's why we stopped offering them to clients. A store app needs its own build for iPhone and Android, an app review before every update, and steady upkeep as each new OS version lands. That's a lot of cost for a tool your customers or staff open a few times a week.

A web app skips all of it. It opens from a link in any phone or desktop browser, can be saved to the home screen like an app, and every fix goes live the moment we deploy it. One codebase, one place to host it, no store in the middle.

Frequently asked questions

Do you build iPhone or Android apps?
No. We only build web apps. A store app means a separate build per platform, an app review for every update, and ongoing work just to keep up with new OS versions. For most business tools, that cost buys very little. A web app runs in the phone's browser, can be saved to the home screen, and updates the moment we ship a fix. We have shipped iOS apps of our own, which is how we know the tradeoff.
How much does a custom web app cost?
It's quoted per project. A small internal tool and a multi-user product with payments are very different jobs, so we scope yours on a short call and send a written quote before any work starts. Our monthly website plans don't cover custom web apps; those are always quoted on their own.
How long does it take to build a web app?
It depends on scope, so the timeline comes with the quote. A tool with one job ships much faster than a product with accounts, payments, and an admin side. Every project on this site has a build log, so you can see how long real builds took and what slowed them down.
Do you build internal tools and dashboards?
Yes. Plenty of businesses run on a spreadsheet, a shared inbox, or a paper form that has outgrown itself. A small web app your team signs into can replace it, with the fields, permissions, and reports you actually use.
What happens after launch?
Hosting and ongoing support are agreed in the quote, whether that means we keep maintaining the app or hand it to your team. Changes after launch are scoped and quoted the same way as the build.
Do I need a web app or a website?
If people mostly need to find you, read about you, and call, you need a website, and our monthly website plans cover that. If they need to sign in, enter data, or track something, that's a web app. Lots of businesses need the website first, and we'll say so on the call.
